From a Small Kitchen
to Kansas City's Favorite
Pizza Ranch was born in 2014 when founder Marcus Delano turned a lifelong obsession with authentic pizza into Kansas City's most beloved pizza destination. Starting from a tiny 800-square-foot kitchen on North Oak Trafficway with just four tables and a dream, Marcus hand-rolled every crust himself and sourced toppings from local farms.
Word spread fast. Within six months, lines formed around the block on weekends. By 2016, we expanded to our current full-service location — a warm, welcoming space that holds nearly 100 guests and continues to serve the same recipes Marcus perfected in those early days.
Today, Pizza Ranch serves over 1,200 pizzas every week, employs more than 45 local team members, and remains fiercely independent — no franchises, no shortcuts, and absolutely no compromise on quality.

We actively sponsor local youth sports leagues, partner with KC food banks, and hire from within our neighborhoods to reinvest in the community.

2014
The Doors Open
Marcus Delano opens Pizza Ranch at 4801 N Oak Trafficway with a team of three, a wood-fired oven, and a menu of eight classic pies. The first day sells out by 2 PM.
2016
Major Expansion
Overwhelming demand leads to a full renovation and expansion. The dining room triples in size, a craft beer bar is added, and weekend wait times finally drop below 20 minutes.
Best Pizza in KC Award
Kansas City Magazine crowns Pizza Ranch "Best Independent Pizza" — the first of five consecutive years earning the recognition. The Ranch BBQ Chicken pizza becomes a regional icon.
Going Green
We launch our sustainability initiative — switching to fully compostable packaging, partnering with local composting services, and reducing food waste by 40% through smart inventory management.
Online Ordering Launch
Pizza Ranch launches its own direct online ordering platform, eliminating third-party delivery fees and passing savings directly to customers. Over 500 online orders in week one.
2024
10 Years & Counting
Pizza Ranch celebrates a decade of serving Kansas City. Over 600,000 pizzas served, 45+ team members, and a catering program that has delighted guests at more than 300 events. The best is yet to come.

Sofia's culinary degree from Johnson County CC and five years at top KC restaurants make her the creative engine behind our seasonal specials and signature sauces.
